MY FRIENDLY GHOST

Hello

You are the ghost that stares at me all night

And of course I return the favour.

Why are you so harmless?

Infact

You are gradually becoming my friend

My unfriendly friend who wouldn’t speak

 

Are you okay?

 

Dear Ghost

You have caused me my nights

Dawn is where I find rest

Because I am frightened by you.

Although you mean no harm.

 

In the morning

You are replaced

Replaced by the coat my mum got for me in grade 6

Tattered and dirty

But I still love to display it

So I hang it by my wardrobe.

 

Ghost?

Could it have been the coat all along?
