
Depression can be defined in various always according to how you see it because it is not something that affects one on a short term but on the long run.
My own definition of being depressed is laying all the burdens of life on ones head without the feeling that there is a way out. Thus, one tends to drown or wallow in his own problems. Hence the persons view of life is "what's the essence of my existence?" Self-doubt creeps in and that swiftly turns to depression.
Depression can be caused by;
1.The death of a loved one.
2. Constant failure in various endeavors
3. Lack of money.
4. People perception about you.
5. Family and upbringing.
6. Low self-esteem etc...
But what must be understood is that no matter how lonely and rejected one feels in life, your never the only one in such situations and your case ain't the worst. Some tend to think suicide is the solution, "No." Once there is life there is hope. Look at the bright side of life. In every situation that feels impossible there is always a possibility.
Once your feeling depressed don't remain silent about it, because that won't solve your problem. Look for a counselor , parent, pastor or anyone you feel is good enough for you to open up to. Gradually you will find out that your feeling of depression will leave and your perception of life will change. Don't give up and feel all hope is lost. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
